Troy Burke

Troy is an associate research scientist whose primary research interest is the
energy regulating molecule AMPK, and it’s role in obesity. Troy graduated from
University College Cork in Ireland in 1995 and subsequently received his PhD
in biochemistry (1999) from Queen’s University Belfast studying the potential
agonist/antagonist properties of TNF-a derived peptides. His research focus is
on the high-resolution structure determination of the AMPK heterotrimer,
and biochemical experiments to understand its mechanism of action.
